No keyboard option

I dont use this app because it lacks a keyboard option, though it offers a great selection of symbols, images, etc. from which to choose. Unless I am missing something, to use this I have to open up the app, search for & then select the desired item, go back to my current message to view the symbol/object. If I entered the wrong symbol or dont like the appearance of it, I have to delete it then go back and reopen this app and start the selection/entry process all over again. Its a lot of steps just to enter one item. It can be very time consuming especially if I want to enter another symbol in the same message. Please simplify this and make it easier to use.
